Trip to Italy
Support for the Croatian community and international promotion of Konavle’s cultural heritage

During our visit to the Italian region of Molise and the city of Rome, we presented the folkloric and cultural heritage of Konavle to the Croatian community in Italy and to an international audience. We participated in the events MOLISAICO 9 and CROETNO 5, where through dance, music, traditional crafts and gastronomy we strengthened cultural ties between the homeland and the diaspora. The programme also marked the first international experience of the younger dance group and represented a successful example of international cultural cooperation.

Proljeće pri Dvoru
The central folklore event of Pridvorje and authentic Konavle

The Proljeće pri Dvoru event once again confirmed Pridvorje as the centre of the authentic folk tradition of Konavle. A rich programme featuring more than one hundred performers was presented to a large audience, including dance, song, traditional instruments and the first Konavle mini-comedy “Pridvorski skerac in four acts”. The evening was marked by togetherness, laughter and a strong connection to Konavle’s cultural heritage, with special emphasis on the youngest members of the KUD.
The Proljeće pri Dvoru event once again confirmed Pridvorje as the centre of the authentic folk tradition of Konavle. Christmas Concert in Pridvorje

A Christmas concert was held at the Monastery of St Blaise in Pridvorje, where members of the KUD, together with friends and guests, introduced Konavle to the celebration of the greatest Christian feast in a special way. A spiritual and traditional programme was performed before a full audience, featuring KUD singers, students of the singing school, and guest choirs and vocal groups. The concert took place in an atmosphere of reflection, togetherness and sincere joy in anticipation of Christmas.

Visit to the Croats of Karaševo and the cultural heritage of Transylvania

At the invitation of the Association of Croats in Romania, we took part in the 6th International Folklore Festival “By the Karaš River” in Karaševo, a town inhabited by Croats for centuries. We presented the folk tradition of Konavle and experienced an exceptionally warm welcome from our compatriots, marked by a strong sense of unity and connection. The trip was enriched by a visit to Corvin Castle in Transylvania, one of the largest and most significant castles in Europe.

58th International Folklore Festival Zagreb
Performances in the centre of Zagreb and presentation of the authentic heritage of Konavle

We participated in the 58th International Folklore Festival in Zagreb, the most significant folklore event in Croatia. As part of the programme, we performed at the main festival evening at the Travno Cultural Centre and at Ban Jelačić Square, following the ceremonial parade through the city centre. We presented the authentic folklore of Konavle, and our performances were rewarded with strong applause from the audience and commendations from the festival’s professional committee.
We participated in the 58th International Folklore Festival in Zagreb, the most significant folklore event in Croatia. As part of the programme, we performed at the main festival evening at the Travno Cultural Centre and at Ban Jelačić Square, following the ceremonial parade through the city centre. Trip to Hungary and Austria
Encounters with Croatian communities and historical remembrance

During our tour of Hungary and Austria, we performed for members of Croatian communities, attended by distinguished representatives of cultural and public life. In addition to full-length performances, we took part in Holy Masses in Unda and Vienna and visited historically significant sites connected with the heritage of Burgenland and Konavle Croats. We also marked 116 years since the last visit of people from Konavle to Vienna, recalling the historic journey of 1908. The trip was marked by a strong sense of togetherness, cultural connection and exceptional hospitality from our hosts.

At the invitation of the organizers, we took part in the 57th Đakovački vezovi, one of the most important folklore events in Croatia. Through performances of potkolo and poskočica, we presented the folk tradition of Konavle and participated in the ceremonial procession through the streets of Đakovo, before a large audience and alongside more than fifty folklore groups from Croatia and abroad. Participation in the Festival represents a special recognition for our ensemble and a confirmation of many years of dedicated work.

Folklore Unites
Gathering of children and young folk dancers from Konavle, Župa and Primorje

The first gathering of young folk dancers within the Folklore Unites project was held in Pridvorje, bringing together more than 130 children from Konavle, Župa and Primorje. Through the participation of KUD “Stjepan Radić”, KUD “Marko Marojica” and Mali Linđo Slano, an important connection of regional folk traditions was established. The event highlighted the values of togetherness, cooperation and the transmission of tradition to younger generations.
